Join GIA for an evening celebrating the life and legacy of Richard T. Liddicoat, the father of modern gemology, and the opening evening of the 2018 GIA International Gemological Symposium. Greet long-time friends and forge new relationships across the more than 750 Symposium attendees from 36 countries, all while you experience GIA World Headquarters as it is transformed into a visually captivating musical wonderland. At each turn, you will take in a different genre –classical, jazz, pop. Dance under the stars with a DJ who is sure to bring down the house! And be transfixed by a signature three-story architectural installation that will create an immersive multisensory environment. With these beautiful sounds in the background, enjoy a delectable global cuisine of heavy hors d’oeuvres as you take in our one-of-akind museum exhibits. On debut is a tribute exhibit in honor of Mr. Liddicoat featuring exceptional diamond jewelry. You will also want to see GIA’s featured exhibit, Centuries of Opulence: Jewels of India, showcasing 300 years of adornment with lavish historical jewelry pieces and objects, as well as our new installation, Eyes of Brazil.
